BYD Celebrates One-Year Anniversary Of Thai Factory Operations

BYD's factory in Rayong Province, Thailand, has marked its first anniversary of production and celebrated the delivery of its 90,000th new energy vehicle (NEV) in the country - a significant milestone. Over the past three years since entering the Thai market, BYD has demonstrated outstanding performance across multiple areas. The company remains committed to delivering high-quality products and services while actively fulfilling its social responsibilities.

When northern Thailand faced natural disasters, BYD quickly stepped in to provide emergency power support to local communities. In terms of employment, the factory has hired over 6,100 Thai workers in just one year, with a localization rate of 90%. This has not only greatly boosted local employment but also facilitated cultural integration between China and Thailand.

The 90,000th vehicle delivered was a DENZA D9, handed over to the President of the Football Association of Thailand. Meanwhile, the first Thailand-produced BYD Destroyer 05 officially rolled off the assembly line, further expanding BYD's product lineup in the country.

The Destroyer 05 is Thailand's first plug-in hybrid model, designed to meet the diverse travel needs of local consumers. BYD's Rayong factory is a key global production hub, featuring a fully localized manufacturing process and an annual production capacity of 150,000 units. In addition to producing NEVs, the factory is also driving localization of the supply chain. Looking ahead, BYD plans to introduce more models tailored to the Thai market, covering a broader range of segments.
