On May 27th, the Beijing Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV was officially launched, offering four different trim levels with a price range of 486,000 to 630,600 yuan. The new vehicle is positioned as a pure electric mid-size SUV and is the fifth pure electric model introduced by Beijing Mercedes-Benz. Based on the Mercedes-Benz EVA electric platform, the EQE SUV will be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, with a maximum range of 613 kilometers based on the CLTC test cycle.
Exterior-wise, the Beijing Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV adopts the distinctive styling of the Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle family, featuring a rounded and robust overall appearance. The design language is consistent with the EQE sedan, including the headlight shape, enclosed front grille, and the three-section air vent design on the front bumper. However, the SUV model has a higher front end, giving it a more powerful presence.
The side profile of the vehicle does not have the pronounced arch design seen in the EQ series sedans, with more fluid lines and a smooth roofline. The body has a rounded shape, and the addition of side steps highlights its SUV identity. It is worth mentioning that the new vehicle will offer two different styles of 20-inch wheels. The dimensions of the vehicle are as follows: length 4880mm, width 2032mm, height 1679mm, and a wheelbase of 3030mm.
The interior of the vehicle continues the family design language, featuring an oversized central touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a passenger-side display, creating a high-tech atmosphere. It also comes with the latest MBUX Hyperscreen infotainment system. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, along with the turbine-style air vents, adds a sporty ambiance. The dynamically adjustable ambient lighting and various personalized simulated engine sounds enhance the immersive driving experience. The interior craftsmanship and material selection maintain the high standards expected from Mercedes-Benz, making this EQ-exclusive interior a benchmark in the industry.
In terms of powertrain, the new vehicle adopts a 400V architecture and is equipped with an NCM811 power battery consisting of 10 battery modules. The usable capacity is 90.6 kWh. The vehicle will offer three power versions: 350+, 350 4MATIC, and 500 4MATIC. The 350+ is a rear-wheel drive single motor model, with a maximum power of 292 horsepower (215 kW) and peak torque of 565 Nm. The WLTP maximum range is 590 kilometers. The 350 4MATIC adds a front motor, keeping the total power output the same, but increasing the peak torque to 765 Nm. The WLTP maximum range is 558 kilometers. The 500 4MATIC model has a maximum power of 408 horsepower (300 kW) and peak torque of 858 Nm. The WLTP maximum range is 547 kilometers.
