At the 2023 Chengdu Auto Show's Hyundai booth, we learned that the Elantra N is expected to launch in October and deliveries are set to begin in November. The vehicle will feature a 2.0T engine and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, achieving a 0-96km/h acceleration time of approximately 5.3 seconds.
As a high-performance model in the N series, the Elantra N exhibits a compelling exterior design. Its completely blackened front and the newly designed X-shaped front bumper imbue it with a strong sense of athleticism. Details include red decorative lines throughout the vehicle, 245/35 R19 Michelin PS4 series tires, red calipers bearing the N logo, dual large-size exhausts on both sides, and a fixed black spoiler.
Inside, the new model continues to feature a dual-screen setup. The center console and seats are still upholstered with extensive leather and soft-touch materials. However, the inclusion of a sporty steering wheel, suede-like material, and a red start button is sure to get any driver's pulse racing.
In terms of performance, it's equipped with the N-specific 2.0T GDI Flat Power engine, boasting wide-range power output technology. The engine delivers a maximum power of 276 horsepower and peak torque of 40 kgf·m (392 N·m), paired with an 8-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. Additionally, it comes with exclusive high-performance features such as N Grin Shift (NGS), N Power Shift (NPS), and N Track Sense Shift. These greatly enhance the driving pleasure. Notably, when activating the N Grin Shift mode, the vehicle bursts with intense power, momentarily boosting the maximum output by an additional 10 horsepower for up to 20 seconds.
