2024 BYD Song L DMi SUV

The exterior of the 2024 BYD Song L DMi SUV continues to follow the family design style of the Dynasty series. Its upper part is quite similar to the previously released Song L electric version, with the addition of a large grille to cool the engine and ventilation openings on both sides to enhance the sporty feel.

Moving to the side, the BYD Song L DMi features rounded rectangular wheel arches, with lines above that create a strong sense of power. It comes equipped with 19-inch low wind resistance dragon scale wheels, with Kumho 235/50 R19 tires. Additionally, it uses hidden door handles to showcase its new energy attributes. In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4780/1898/1670mm in length, width, and height, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2782mm.

The front face of the Song L DMi adopts the new Chinese dragon aesthetics design concept. The through-type daytime running lights resemble flying dragon whiskers, giving the vehicle a sense of agility and technological sophistication. Two strokes on the hood outline four taut muscular lines, creating a very powerful visual effect.

The Song L DMi is built based on the latest version of the C-NCAP five-star safety standards. The new car's body consists of 75.7% high-strength steel, with a coating plate proportion of 76.9%. The roof can withstand over 9.7 tons of pressure. All models come standard with 7 airbags, including the rarely seen front far-side airbag, which effectively reduces injuries from secondary collisions.

At the rear, the new car has a large chrome decoration at the D-pillar, connected to a two-stage rear spoiler. The through-type tail light has a "Chinese knot" style structure, presenting a good sense of fashion. The black and silver combination of the rear bumper shows some off-road attributes, and the exhaust adopts a hidden design for a unified appearance.

Inside, the new car's overall interior layout is consistent with the Qin L DM-i, though the three-spoke steering wheel and T-shaped center console layout seem to intentionally mimic the "Song" character. It features a Sandstone Ceramic color scheme, complemented by 31-color ambient lighting for a refined touch. The new car will be equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen with the DiLink 100 operating system, using a 6nm process chip with a computing power of 136k. Additional features include a HUD, a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, 50W wireless charging, heated steering wheel, and DiPilot level driving assistance with lane change assist. The interior adopts a five-seat layout with thickly padded seats. The front seats come with electric adjustment, heating, and ventilation functions, while the rear seats have air conditioning vents and charging ports. The trunk space is also impressive, with a storage capacity of 459 liters, which can expand to a maximum of 1550 liters with the rear seats folded down.

In terms of power, the BYD Song L DMi is equipped with fifth-generation DM technology, consisting of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power of 74kW, while the electric motor has a maximum power of 160kW, with the engine's maximum thermal efficiency reaching 46.06%. The power battery offers capacities of 12.9kWh, 18.3kWh, and 26.6kWh, corresponding to pure electric ranges of 75km, 112km, and 160km (CLTC conditions), with a comprehensive range of 1450km and 1500km, and a fuel consumption of 3.90L/100km (NEDC conditions) when the battery is low. Additionally, the new car supports 6kW external discharge function, enriching outdoor usage scenarios.
