The BYD D1 features the proportions of a compact MPV, with a relatively short front section and a higher roof height compared to a sedan of similar length. Combined with the height of a sedan's platform, it provides a solid foundation for interior space.

The side profile of the vehicle has many highlights. In addition to its compact MPV-style design, the new car adopts a sliding design for the right rear door, with the sliding door rail located above the rear wheel arch. The front and rear doors on the driver's side still use the conventional opening method.

The interior design of the vehicle is minimalist, featuring a clean and straightforward layout. The central console stands out with a large-sized LCD display screen.

At the rear, the new car adopts the popular through-type taillight design, incorporating the Build Your Dreams logo inside, which enhances its recognition. Additionally, the car features an L-shaped design on both sides of the rear, along with a large trapezoidal license plate area, creating a sense of hierarchy.

The interior design of the new car is minimalist, with a clearly layered central console featuring a large-sized LCD display screen. There is a shift knob in the center of the shift area, with function/mode selection buttons on either side. In addition, a courtesy light is placed on the passenger-side central console, allowing users to adjust the D1's courtesy light color through a mobile app.

In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4390/1850/1650mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2800mm. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 136 horsepower and a peak torque of 180 Nm. It will be paired with lithium iron phosphate blade batteries produced by Chongqing Vandi Lithium Battery Co., Ltd., with a capacity of 53.6 kWh. The NEDC comprehensive range is 418 km.
