Why Do Car Turn Signals Work Intermittently?

The proper functioning of a car's turn signals is crucial, and any malfunction should be promptly addressed to avoid safety hazards. If your car's turn signals work intermittently, what could be the issue?

1:Poor contact between the turn signal bulb and the socket can cause intermittent issues. Reinstalling the turn signal bulb securely onto the socket is necessary to address the on-and-off behavior.

2:Mismatched turn signal bulbs with the vehicle can lead to intermittent problems. If a higher wattage bulb was installed after a previous burnout, the turn signal may work intermittently. In such cases, it's advisable to visit a dealership (4S store) to replace the bulb with one that matches the vehicle's specifications.

3:Burned-out filaments in the bulb can also result in intermittent turn signal operation. As bulbs age, their filaments may deteriorate, requiring replacement with new bulbs.

4:A faulty flasher relay in the car's turn signal system can be the culprit. Using a multimeter to measure voltage is recommended. Normal voltage output should be a consistent 12V. If there is a continuous or no output, it indicates a damaged flasher relay, necessitating replacement, which can be done at a 4S store.
