A low-speed driving alert refers to an added low-speed warning sound system specifically for pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles, intended to alert pedestrians to take caution. When a new energy vehicle travels at a speed lower than 20km/h, it should emit a sound to notify people that the vehicle is in motion.

Electric vehicles (including pure electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles) produce noticeably less external noise compared to traditional internal combustion vehicles when driving at low speeds in electric mode. This reduced noise can make it challenging for other road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, especially the blind and visually impaired, to detect the approaching vehicle, increasing the risk of traffic accidents.
