Hongqi is a Chinese automaker that began producing cars in the 1950s, and in 2018 they introduced their first electric car model, the Hongqi E-HS3. The E-HS3 was designed and engineered to compete in the growing electric vehicle market in China, which is the world’s largest market for electric cars.
The E-HS3 is a compact SUV that features a 70-kilowatt electric motor and a 61.6-kilowatt-hour battery pack, which provides a range of up to about 330 kilometers on a single charge. The E-HS3 also includes advanced safety features such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
Since the introduction of the E-HS3, Hongqi has continued to expand their electric lineup, with the introduction of the E-HS5 and E-QM5 models in 2020. These models feature longer ranges and more advanced technology, including autonomous driving capabilities.
