What is a rear windshield safety airbag?

The rear windshield safety airbag is a safety airbag designed for the protection of the rear passengers' heads. It is located at the vehicle's rear windshield and comprises an airbag module, a gas generator, and a generator bracket. In the event of a collision, the rear windshield safety airbag can prevent the back-row passengers' heads from making hard contact, shielding them from glass and other flying debris.

The airbag module is fixed to the rear part of the car body and contains a folded airbag. Inside the airbag is an air guide structure, which directs the flow of gas entering the airbag. The gas generator is connected to the airbag within the airbag module. The two ends of the generator bracket are fixed to the car body, with a gap between the middle part and the car body. The inner side of the middle part features a flexible support that presses against the car body. The gas generator is installed on the outer side of the middle part of the generator bracket. During the vehicle's movement, vibrations can be absorbed through the elastic deformation of the support, thus avoiding noise from the generator bracket colliding with the car body. Furthermore, in the event of a collision, the gas generator releases a large volume of gas that fills the airbag. As the airbag inflates, it expands to block the rear part of the vehicle, preventing passengers from colliding with the back of the car and incurring injuries.
