Spark plugs are vital components of a vehicle and are susceptible to wear and tear. If the owner fails to detect abnormalities in the spark plugs promptly, it can lead to various adverse effects on the vehicle's performance and increase the likelihood of accidents.

Causes and Solutions for Oil on Spark Plugs:
1:Oil leakage at the valve cover gasket: Oil leakage at the valve cover gasket is mainly due to the aging of the valve cover gasket, which is a rubber component. Over time, the valve cover gasket can become hardened and brittle. The valve cover gasket serves as a seal to prevent oil leakage. When the valve cover gasket ages, oil can leak out, leading to oil accumulation on the spark plugs. The solution is to replace the valve cover gasket with a new one, which can cost anywhere from tens to hundreds of dollars, depending on the brand and type.
2:Aging of the spark plug seal: Spark plugs have a seal, and in some vehicle models, the seal is connected to the valve cover gasket. When the seal of the spark plug ages, oil can enter the spark plug through the threads. To address this issue, check for any oil residue in the spark plug threads. If present, simply replacing the spark plug seal can solve the oil problem.
3:Oil creeping: Oil creeping can occur due to various reasons, with common causes being severe piston ring wear and excessive clearance between the valve stem and guide. Oil creeping can lead to oil accumulation on all spark plugs, serving as a diagnostic criterion.

Spark plugs should be replaced regularly, and the replacement interval may vary among different manufacturers. Typically, it's recommended to replace spark plugs every approximately 30,000 kilometers. However, some manufacturers may specify longer replacement intervals. Refer to the maintenance manual for specific recommendations. If spark plug misfires occur, replacement should be performed earlier.
