The precursor to the Silverstone Circuit was a military airfield used during World War II. Starting from 1948, it began hosting the British Grand Prix and in 1950 became the venue for the world's first Formula One Championship race.

2:Characteristics of the Circuit:

Silverstone Circuit is known for its high speeds, demanding excellent aerodynamics from the cars. It poses significant challenges for both the drivers and the cars. The Abbey corner, the final S-curve, along with the Priory and Luffield corners, are quite challenging in terms of their layout. Drivers generally opt for a medium downforce setup. The start line of this track is rather unusual. Not every driver can see the starting signal light directly. This is because the cars waiting to start are lined up on a curve, so those in the rear positions cannot see the signal lights directly. As a result, they must pay close attention to the movements of the cars ahead and act accordingly.
