This depends on the specific condition of the mounts. Generally, you only need to replace the one that is damaged. Engine mounts tend to show signs of aging after several years of use. If an inspection reveals that all three mounts are damaged, then they should be replaced together. Replacing just one might result in vibration imbalance, causing the car to shake more noticeably.
However, if you have previously replaced one mount and it has not yet aged, you can opt not to replace it during subsequent maintenance.
Which of the Three Engine Mounts Fails Most Often?
Typically, all three engine mounts age at a similar rate, so no single mount is more prone to failure than the others. Engine mounts usually lose their vibration-damping effectiveness completely after about five years. At this point, the vehicle's vibrations, particularly at idle in D gear, become significantly more pronounced.
