The transmission fluid in a Mercedes E260L should be changed every 60,000 kilometers. The replacement capacity is 10 liters.
Mercedes E260L Transmission Fluid Replacement Method

1:Gravity Replacement
This method is similar to changing the engine oil. After loosening the fastening nut at the bottom of the oil pan, the transmission fluid will automatically flow out from the drain hole. This method is the simplest but cannot completely drain the transmission fluid. Dirty old fluid can easily remain in mechanical pits and dead corners.
2:Circulation Machine Replacement
Add new transmission fluid into the circulation machine and connect the transmission and the machine through pipeline interfaces. Under hydraulic pressure, the new fluid will push out the old fluid, making the oil passage cleaner. The more new transmission fluid used, the cleaner the discharge of the old fluid will be. Replacing the transmission fluid with a circulation machine generally consumes about 10-15 liters of fluid and takes approximately one hour.
3:Oil Pan Removal Replacement
This method involves thorough cleaning and can also clean the oil filter. However, the disassembly process is more complicated, and most 4S shops are unwilling to undertake such labor-intensive work for the car owner.
Symptoms of Deteriorating Transmission Fluid in a Mercedes E260L
1:Slipping: Occurs when the transmission gears do not lubricate adequately on slopes or other high-torque road sections.
2:Leaking: Indicates a problem with the transmission seal.
3:Jerking: Mainly caused by deteriorating transmission fluid with dirt and impurities.
4:Noise: Indicates a high amount of debris and impurities in the transmission fluid.
5:Overheating: The instrument panel usually displays a transmission overheat warning.
6:Stalling: Could be due to a damaged input shaft speed sensor.
