How often should car air filters and cabin air filters be replaced?

Car air filters and cabin air filters both need to be replaced regularly to prevent dirt from accumulating and bacteria from breeding. Typically, the replacement cycle for an air filter is around one year or every 10,000 kilometers driven, while the replacement cycle for a cabin air filter is shorter, typically between three to six months.

The replacement cycle for a car's cabin air filter depends on the driving environment. If the driving environment is humid or frequently experiences smoggy weather, the replacement cycle may need to be shortened accordingly. Cabin air filters filter out impurities from the air entering the vehicle cabin, which helps protect the health of occupants by ensuring they breathe fresher and cleaner air.

Effects of not replacing the air filter for a long time:

1:Incomplete combustion of gasoline: When there is a significant amount of dirt on the air filter, airflow can be blocked, resulting in reduced intake of air into the engine. This can decrease engine power, increase fuel consumption, and lead to carbon deposits on the throttle valve.

2:Unstable idle: If the air filter is not replaced for an extended period, the vehicle's idle may become unstable, and black smoke may be emitted from the exhaust pipe. The engine may also experience noticeable shaking.

3:Decreased filtration efficiency: If the air filter is not replaced for a long time, it may become clogged, reducing its effectiveness in filtering impurities. This can result in small dust particles and impurities entering the combustion chamber, leading to serious wear and tear on the engine cylinders.
