In everyday driving, drivers often notice a blurry, greasy film on the windshield of their cars, known as "automotive oil film." The causes of this oil film can vary.

Vehicle Exhaust Emissions:
One of the reasons for the formation of oil film is vehicle exhaust emissions. Due to the presence of various pollutants in vehicle exhaust, when driving in areas with dense traffic for an extended period, pollutants from vehicle exhaust can accumulate on the glass, eventually forming an oil film.
Exposure to Restaurant Streets:
Vehicles parked for extended periods on streets with restaurants may be exposed to oil smoke pollution, resulting in a thick layer of oil residue on the vehicle.
Dust Particles:
While driving, cars are also exposed to erosion from dust particles. If not cleaned or wiped in a timely manner, the accumulation of these particles on the glass can also form an oil film.

In reality, there are many reasons for the formation of oil film on cars. However, overall, most oil films on vehicles are a result of infrequent vehicle cleaning. If a vehicle has a widespread oil film, it can be cleaned using automotive oil film cleaning agents, or the vehicle can be taken to an auto detailing shop for maintenance. In daily vehicle use, attention should also be paid to parking locations, and if possible, protective covers can be used to prevent the formation of oil film.
