Engine Model

An engine model is a code assigned by the engine manufacturer based on relevant regulations, company and engine attributes, to represent a batch of identical products. It is used to indicate information related to the engine's manufacturer, specifications, performance, characteristics, processes, usage, and product batch.

2:Composition

The engine model consists of four parts.

Front Part:
It includes the product series code, generational symbol, and location/enterprise code. The manufacturing factory can choose the corresponding letters as needed, but they must be standardized according to industry standards and approved and recorded by the unit.

Middle Part:
It consists of cylinder number symbol, cylinder arrangement form symbol, stroke symbol, and bore symbol.

Rear Part:
It consists of structural feature symbols and usage feature symbols.

Tail Part:
Differentiation symbol. When the same series of products need to be differentiated due to improvements or other reasons, the manufacturing factory can choose an appropriate symbol. The rear and tail parts can be separated by "-".

3:Related Extensions

Body Type:
Refers to the distinguishing characteristics of a vehicle based on its general structure or exterior appearance, such as the number of doors and windows, cargo-carrying features, and roof type (e.g., box-type body, hatchback body, sedan body).

Engine Type:
Refers to the characteristics of the power unit, such as the fuel used, number of cylinders, displacement, and static brake power. Engines installed in passenger cars, multi-purpose passenger vehicles, or trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 lb or less should indicate the manufacturer and model.

Category:
It is the naming given by the manufacturer to vehicles within the same model, which have certain commonalities in terms of structures such as body, chassis, or cab type.

Brand:
It is the name given by the manufacturer to a category of vehicles or engines.

Model:
It refers to the name given by the manufacturer to vehicles with the same type, brand, category, series, and body type.

Model Year:
Indicates the year of a specific individual vehicle model. As long as the actual cycle does not exceed two legislative years, the actual year of production of the vehicle may not be considered.
