Correct Usage of Honda Brake Hold

During driving, we often encounter situations where we need to briefly stop, such as waiting at a red light or making a temporary stop. To provide a more intelligent and safe driving experience, Honda has introduced an innovative technology - the Brake Hold automatic parking system. The following explains how to correctly use the Honda Brake Hold feature.

Firstly, after starting the vehicle, press the Brake Hold button. The Brake Hold light on the dashboard will illuminate, indicating that the automatic parking system has been activated. This feature enables intelligent braking during driving, eliminating the need for frequent gear shifting or the use of the handbrake or electronic parking brake.

Secondly, when you need to park, simply press the brake pedal until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The Brake Hold light will appear on the screen, and at this point, you can release the brake pedal, and the vehicle will maintain the braking state. This thoughtful design not only prevents the vehicle from rolling but also simplifies the driver's operating steps.

Next, when you are ready to move again, gently press the accelerator to release the braking performance. This convenient feature ensures a smooth start, without the worry of the vehicle suddenly surging forward. The Brake Hold system intelligently senses the driver's intention and releases the brake at the appropriate time, ensuring safe and comfortable driving.

It is essential to note that in situations where the vehicle is parked on a slope, Brake Hold will automatically engage the wheel brakes to prevent the vehicle from rolling. When the driving force exceeds the resistance to movement, indicating that the vehicle has enough power to continue forward, Brake Hold will automatically release the wheel brakes, allowing the vehicle to move smoothly.
