BASF Collaborates with Three Companies to Produce New EV Batteries Made from Recycled Metals

Battery manufacturer BASF, Florida-based graphene energy storage maker Nanotech Energy, ABTC (American Battery Technology Company) - a lithium-ion battery recycling company from Reno, and TODA Advanced Materials, a company based in Ontario that produces metal hydroxide materials for rechargeable battery manufacturers, have announced a collaboration. Together, they aim to create the first closed-loop system for electric vehicle lithium-ion batteries in the U.S.

As stated by Daniel Schönfelder, BASF's Senior Vice President of Battery Precious Metals and Recycling, "This collaboration enables BASF and Nanotech to produce lithium-ion batteries containing locally recycled components."
