DongFeng Forthing T5 EVO

Exterior-wise, the DongFeng T5 EVO showcases a new and more commanding front face design. The major changes can be observed in the grille and front bumper. The waterfall-style grille has been replaced with horizontal lines, and the front bumper now has a more three-dimensional appearance. The headlights retain the split-type design, with the base and mid-range models featuring halogen light sources, while the higher-end models adopt the more mainstream LED light sources. Height adjustment, delayed closing, and automatic headlights are standard features across the range.

From the side, the vehicle maintains a sturdy and standard SUV profile. The side skirts have been enhanced with black protective elements. The rear of the car mainly focuses on the bumper, featuring more horizontal lines that complement the front. Additionally, there are aerodynamic-like air channels on both sides of the rear bumper, adding to the sporty ambiance. The car's dimensions are 4595mm in length, 1860mm in width, 1690mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2715mm.

The vehicle's front face, designed with biomimicry, exudes a powerful and commanding presence. The integrated tail lights, accompanied by dynamic flowing turn signals, enhance the overall quality of the vehicle.

The center console features a large area of soft materials, providing a comfortable and inviting ambiance. The seats offer excellent comfort, and the vehicle as a whole provides ample interior space.

Inside the cabin, the T-shaped center console has a well-defined hierarchy, while the combination of the LCD instrument panel and the center touchscreen display adds a touch of sophistication with rounded corners. The circular air vents resonate with the overall sporty nature of the vehicle.

Furthermore, the new DongFeng T5 EVO has undergone adjustments in terms of features and equipment. The seatbelt reminder for the driver remains across the entire range, while the top-tier models offer lane-changing assistance and door opening alerts. The entry-level variant will no longer have a rearview camera and cruise control, whereas the Mach edition comes standard with a panoramic camera. The entry-level models no longer include a leather steering wheel and rear center armrest. The navigation system in the Mach edition now displays real-time traffic information, and the voice recognition control system supports continuous dialogue, improving its functionality. Other changes encompass mirror functions, smartphone app control, and air conditioning. Overall, the entry-level trim sees some downgraded features, while the mid-to-high-range trims receive enhancements.

In terms of powertrain, the new DongFeng T5 EVO continues to offer a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine across the range, with a maximum power output of 197 horsepower. However, there are variations in the engine models. The entry-level variants still employ the 4A95TD engine, while the Mach edition adopts the DFMC15TP1 engine. The former provides a peak torque of 285 Nm, while the latter offers a peak torque of 300 Nm. The transmission system is paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox.
