Polestar 2

The all-new Polestar 2 will become the brand's first rear-wheel drive model, featuring an upgraded front face design similar to the Polestar 3 and equipped with new electric motors and a more powerful battery, resulting in improved range and acceleration.

In terms of exterior, the new Polestar 2 adopts a completely new SmartZone front face design, replacing the previous grille design. Similar to the Polestar 3, the SmartZone area will integrate the vehicle's most essential active safety features, including front cameras and millimeter-wave radar systems. Additionally, the high-performance package introduces new 20-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels.

From the family-oriented front face to the iconic continuous taillight strip, the entire exterior showcases a tasteful aesthetic that is both serene and distinctive.

More choices don't necessarily mean better. Each interior color scheme offered by the Polestar 2 is carefully curated, featuring innovative materials and finishes that are both visually appealing and environmentally friendly. Regarding powertrain, the new Polestar 2 across the lineup features the next-generation electric motor and inverter. The single-motor version transitions from front-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive, powered by a newly developed permanent magnet motor and silicon carbide inverter. It delivers a maximum power of 220 kW, maximum torque of 490 Nm, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, 1.2 seconds faster than before, enhancing the driving experience of the rear-wheel drive model.

The dual-motor version adopts a rear-wheel bias design and rebalances the transmission system and torque distribution. The new rear motor serves as the primary driving source, paired with an asynchronous motor located on the front axle. It delivers a maximum power of 310 kW, maximum torque of 740 Nm, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Furthermore, to improve efficiency, the front motor can be decoupled when not needed, seamlessly engaging when the driver requires more power.

To enhance convenience during the driving experience, Polestar has comprehensively upgraded the standard features of the new Polestar 2. Driver-assist reminders are now included as standard, including blind-spot monitoring system (BLIS) with steering assist, reverse cross-traffic alert system with brake assist, rear collision warning and mitigation, 360° surround-view camera, and anti-glare exterior mirrors. Additionally, wireless phone charging is now standard across all models of the new vehicle.
